NightmareSoccer
- fantasy football with a sense of humour
|
He's having
a Nightmare!
NightmareSoccer challenges you to pick the worst team in the Premiership
or SPL. Select 11 players, from 11 different teams, to make up your Nightmare
11 - then sit back and watch them perform... badly, you hope! You gain points
from your players' misfortune - if your forwards can't score, they'll be doing
well in NightmareSoccer. If your goalkeeper is conceding lots of goals, he'll
be a Nightmare star too.
It's quite simple - the worse your Nightmare 11 perform, the more points they get. So every time one of your players 'has a Nightmare' you can look forward to a successful week in NightmareSoccer. Click here for full details of how players score Nightmare points
It's free to enter, and new teams can be entered at any time up to the end of March. You can choose to enter NightmareSoccer Premiership, NightmareSoccer SPL, or both!
Management
or Lucky Dip - it's your choice
As a NightmareSoccer manager you can choose whether to carefully select
your Nightmare 11, bidding against other managers for the players you want in
your team, or alternatively simply choose a 'Lucky Dip' entry and random
player bids will be generated for you.
Play against
your friends and prove you are the best
NightmareSoccer gives you the opportunity to challenge friends, family and colleagues.
Enter NightmareSoccer within the same week and you will be allocated into the
same Nightmare Division (with a maximum of 16 teams in each NightmareSoccer
Premiership division, and a maximum of 12 in NightmareSoccer SPL) and will be
competing directly against each other.
Bidding and
transfers - real management decisions
When selecting your team you are bidding for your players against rival
managers in your Nightmare Division. So bid wisely - if you are outbid for a
player you will need to choose an alternative. It's also a good idea to hold
some money back for Transfer Days - there are four throughout the season, and
these allow you the opportunity to fine tune your Nightmare 11.
Promotion,
relegation, Cup competitions and even the Nightmare Champions League!
When you enter NightmareSoccer Premiership you are entered into a division
of 16 teams, with four Divisions making a League. A 3-up, 3-down system of promotion
and relegation takes place, so try to avoid the bottom 3 or down you go. In
NightmareSoccer SPL it's 12 teams per Division and 2-up, 2-down.
There is a League Cup (the Worthless Cup) for every single League, and an FA Cup (the Sweet-FA Cup) per nation. In addition if you are successful you can qualify for Europe and the chance to win cash prizes - all division winners go through to the NightmareSoccer Champions' League while there is also a NightmareSoccer Eur'opeless League for those that just miss out on the title, and for Cup winners. Click here for full details on European qualification.
